World War I Unveiling by Eoin O' Neill

There will be an unveiling of a World War I memorial to the men who fought and those who died from Athenry Town and surrounds in the war. A total of 12 men from the locality tragically lost their lives. This will be held in the community park on Sunday November 11th at 12.30pm (after 11am mass).
All are welcome to attend espically those who had members of family who fought or who died in the Great War.
This is an opportunity for the community to come together and remember the sacrifice these local men gave for the freedom of small nations and the hope of achieving Home Rule in Ireland. For any more information please contact Eoin O' Neill at eoin7791@yahoo.co.uk.
